The title "the everlasting blog" was inspired by the bible verse, John 3:16. "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." (This is the New King James translation)
I've been a "Christian" all of my life. I can't quite remember when I accepted Him as my savior. It seems like since I was little I was told to accept him, but I don't remember when I really accepted him into my heart. It wasn't until recently that I had the slightest bit of interest in his Word (the Bible) and having a relationship with him. It was just this last weekend that I went to a Christian youth conference, that his importance finally "clicked" in. The theme of the conference was to live a Jesus centered life. He isn't meant to be on the side of your life, he should be the center. This visual aid to the theme was a target. The dot in the center of the target resembled Jesus.
The main speaker at the conference gave each of us a challenge. Studies show that it takes twenty-one days to make a habit. His challenge is to read the twenty-one chapters of the book of John in twenty-one days. The challenge started yesterday (Sunday). Today I have read through chapter three.
If you are reading this, you must be wondering, "What's the point of this blog" This blog is going to be my year of a Christian life. This blog is almost a reminder and journal to keep going. My blog is mainly going to talk about what I'm reading in the Bible, my daily devotional and what I experience in my life along the way.
